We are Fundraising for Warm Kids this Season

Our Urgent Need - 6 Classrooms currently without heating this winter!

  • Oak Creek Academy prides itself on providing a warm and safe learning environment for exceptional learners in Bell County - and we are the only school of it's type in Central Texas!
  • As we move into the fall and winter months, as many as 6 classrooms will be without heating. Our current HVAC units in these classrooms do not work with many others not far behind - due to the age and condition of these units, replacing them at once provides Oak Creek Academy with a long term, more cost effective solution.
  • We are asking our parents and key partners to rally their friends, family, and networks to support our school's endeavor to purchase 25 new HVAC units.

Oak Creek Academy's 4-Phase Vision Plan

  • Phase 1: Put down roots in our community! We are in the final stages of purchasing our building, we can't wait to celebrate this milestone with you!
  • Phases 2: Begin the much needed replacement of our HVAC system!
  • Phase 3: Repaving our parking lot and purchasing a new roof.
  • Phase 4: Build onto our property so that we can serve more students while staying true to our mission.

Our Oak Creek family deserves classrooms that are conducive to safe teaching and learning. We want to keep tuition costs low and affordable, which means overhead costs for building maintenance and upgrades aren’t covered without generous contributions. Will you support our vision for growth of our Oak Creek Academy and it's students? By becoming a fundraiser for Oak Creek Academy, you will help keep our kids warm and safe!

Starting a fundraiser is easy to do, and it's fun:

  • We'll give you all the tools you'll need to make a difference, including a fundraising page to share!
  • We hope to raise $190K dollars to go towards phase 2 of our Vision Plan - but we know this is only the beginning of our plans for Oak Creek Academy.
  • With warm, giving hearts I know that we can raise the funds needed to make this goal a reality

10% of all donations will go towards establishing our very first Vision Scholarship program!

This non-profit, fully inclusive K-12 school believes that every child deserves a high-quality learning program that

  • addresses the social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical aspects of a child’s development
  • improves the lives of children with special needs, behavior challenges, or struggles not addressed by the public-school system
  • provides year-round schooling in the greater Killeen, Texas area

These goals are achieved by

  • partnering with in-house clinical/medical-based speech, physical, occupational, and ABA therapies in the educational setting
  • implementing effective teaching strategies to fit the individual student

The private therapy provided to children

  • is integrated into the classroom and the therapist work directly or indirectly with the teacher
  • prevents wasting precious instructional time traveling to appointments

This fully accredited school is the only one of its kind in Central Texas. Of the 83 students attending the school

  • over 92% have some form of special needs
  • more than 77% of the children being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Dr Tracy Hanson is the Principal and

  • after 20 years in the field of childhood education, realized that a school focused on individual learning was needed
  • in 2013 opened and founded Oak Creek Academy
  • has always been a huge proponent of inclusion and feels that every student learns in his/her own unique way
  • believes our school gives students the opportunity to grow academically at their level of learning
  • believes students able to work above their grade level, should be challenged and have the freedom to do so

" ...believes if a student is working below grade level, they should have the opportunity to grow academically from that point. Too often traditional school settings try to put a square peg into the round hole. At Oak Creek Academy, we understand that every child is unique and learns differently!"

Our school is a 501(c)(3) school

  • that is fully funded by parents and donations from the community and
  • that does not receive government funding
  • that is in dire need of monetary support
